Supreetha Gubbala - March 1, 2009

So this week, I attended the Services Committee meeting and am currently proceeding with helping out some bookings and stuff for upcoming midnight buffet. I met with Noam and Andy on wednesday and figured out some basic plans for the Rwanda event, we decided on a location, a feasible date, and will be meeting again after jumpstart on Monday. I also attended SJC where we talked about new events for the semester as well as got input on how the Rwanda event should be set up.

Over the past two weeks I have developed great interest in a two things:

1. SJC committee: Due to duties of the Services Committee last semester, I personally somewhat slacked my duties on SJC. With this new Rwanda event, and some personal ideas I have I would really love to revamp the enthusiasm with which I joined the committee last semester

2. Disabilities Committee: Another thing I missed out on last semester, and would really like to revamp is working with the disabilities committee. Planning to contact them, see what they are doing, pledge full participation and throw whatever ideas I have rolling in my head out.

Of course, I am also willing to help out on the current services committee as last semester, but will hopefully be more involved in my own areas of interest this semester.

Also, planning to bring a club up for recognition/charter soon... will talk about that more at the meeting.

Supreetha Gubbala - January 18, 2009

This semester I will be looking further into the Disabilities Committee and Social Justice Committee to get the wheels rolling on fixing the facilities here at Brandeis. I also wanted to talk to the budget committee about examining the current budget further. It seems that in comparison with other schools with similar tuition to Brandeis and a much larger school/population size, that we as students are really not getting what we are paying for.

The Committee Report for Services was also submitted, if anyone wants to read that. Looking forward to an active and productive spring semester :)

Supreetha Gubbala - November 2, 2008

1. Services Committee
So I have been doing a lot of work in planning and booking shuttles and halls for the upcoming Turkey Shuttle program and Midnight buffet. Everything is booked all that is needed now is STUDENT UNION PARTICIPATION. I have sent out and e-mail to all interested senators and non-senators, but more participation is still required to pull of these events successfully. So please let me know if you can help me out in any way!

2. Disability Reform and Renovation
I have been working with Social Justice Committee and last week gave a short presentation to its members upon the problem we are undertaking. It was then decided to make it one of the 3 main projects the committee is currently working on for this semester. Along with two other people, I will further research current building structures and establish how to tackle this vast problem that exists across campus.

3. Summary of Building Problems Existing in North Quad
This week I will be working with fellow 2012 Senator, Akash Vadalia and hopefully North Quad senator, Andrew Hogan, to formally write up all the structural improvements that need to be made in North Quad this year.
