All efforts this week were put into preparing for Thursday's protest, which was a success. Also, I began my first week as executive senator. Executive senator serves as a liaison between the Senate and the E-board. One of my main tasks is representing the Senate and bettering the relationship between the two bodies.

Dining:
As a committee, we met Tuesday night and created an agenda that we presented on Thursday night at this semester’s meeting with administrators from Dining Services. Our major objective was to give students more healthy options or at least the opportunity to know the nutritional value of what they are eating. We discussed some possible hour changes for dining halls and also the impact that the replacement of Java City with Einstein Bagels in the spring will have on students. (Don’t worry; they will still be accepting meals) There were also a few minor issues that are being taken care of immediately.
There is now a second microwave available in Usdan so that you don’t have to wait in line when preparing something from the C-Store. Also, low-fat American cheese is being offered at the deli counter in Usdan. If you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to email or talk to me.

Fresh event:
Seth from Student Events and I met with Jen Eddy, (Conference and Events) in preparation for our Class of 2010 event. I also wrote a resolution asking the Senate for some additional funds to cover the cost.

PBUS meetings are Monday nights at 8 pm in the Student Union Office- all are welcomed!
Our first PBUS event was a success: we supplied pizza and drinks at Saturday night’s alumni rugby game and got the marching band to play the national anthem.

I did dorm raps with my fellow senators for first-year students in preparation for Purple Rain.

Rajiv and I picked a design for Class of 2010 shirts. The shirts will be long-sleeved and cost $8. Please email me at jbrofsky@brandeis.edu by November 5th if you would like to purchase one. There are flyers in all first years dorms with the design and an email sent with a downloadable attachment.

I met with Seth R. Coburn from Student events who is willing to work with Rajiv and I on a freshman event this semester...
