Publicizing Campus Events

Club events are a significant part of this University's livelihood. With so much going on, it is important to publicize your event well. Here are some ways to publicize your event:

  • Put your event on the myBrandeis Calendar. Simply go to http://my.brandeis.edu/calendar/ and add your event.
  • Paint a sign! The paint room is located in the Usdan Student Center and is open to students as long as the building is open. Paint a sign, get it approved by the building manager, and hang it up around Usdan or Shapiro.
  • Make a flyer. Each club is allocated 2000 print tokens per year by the Student Union. Create a flyer and bring it to the Student Union office (Shapiro 301) during office hours and an officer would be happy to make copies for you.
  • Emails are a quick and easy way to inform people about your event. Inform your club members of the event using your club's mailing list.
  • You can submit an announcement for the weekly Student Union Announcements email using this online form. Be sure to read the announcements policy first!
  • To have your event announced on WBRS, email psa -AT- wbrs.org
  • If you have outside money to spend promoting your event, you might want to place an advertisement in the Justice. To do so, email ads -AT- thejusticeonline.com. You can find the prices for advertisements on the Justice web site.
  • You can also use your Student Union allocated copies to create mailbox stuffings. Bring one copy to Student Activities to get it approved, and then stuff away!

Remember to be environmentally conscious when publicizing! Try not to use excessive paper, and make sure you clean up your publicity after your event. Remember that all Student Union copies must contain a recycling symbol. Good luck!
