Elections and Balloting
Union officer elections, petitions, and referenda are overseen by the Elections Commission, a group of students appointed by the Union Secretary. To be eligible to run for office, a student must be an undergradute or Transitional Year Program student in good standing. Students running for office must plan to be full-time Brandeis students during the period in which they will hold office.

Elections Overview
There are four regular elections for Union offices during the academic year:
- Fall elections are held to elect Quad Senators, the Off-Campus Senator, First-Year Class Senators, and the TYP Senator.
- Winter elections are held to fill any vacancies in Union offices.
- Spring Round 1 elections are held to elect the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, members of the Finance Board, a Representative to the Board of Trustees, a Representative to the Alumni Association, and a Representative to the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee.
- Spring Round 2 elections are held to elect the Senators-at-Large, Class Senators, Senator for Racial Minority Students, and the Justices of the Union Judiciary.
