In order to better organize clubs on campus, the Senate Club Support Committee is in the process of mandatory club renewal.This new process of renewal will occur annually as it is a part of the senate's constitution. The goal of this process is to take an accurate census of the clubs on campus and conduct a mass update of the myBrandeis clubs page. All clubs [secured, chartered, recognized] have been required to fill out a simple google doc to confirm their activity. Clubs that have failed to do so are now considered inactive and are now in jeopardy of being de-chartered/de-recognized by the spring semester of 2012. Approximately 190 clubs have submitted the form as of December 1st, 2011. Not only will this process highlight inactive clubs, it will also allow current and prospective students to better interact with clubs by having access to updated information. This information will include club meeting times and location, club leadership and contact information, constitutions of the club, and more. It is presumed that the process will have a positive externality of encouraging club productivity since it imposes club accountability.
