The inaugural issue of the Brandeis University Law Journal is now
accepting article submissions. Article abstracts are due on November

If you're interested in designing a piece for this year's Liquid Latex
show in March, remember that applications are due by Thanksgiving
Break! Please print and fill out an application from the Liquid Latex
club web space (http://my.brandeis.edu/clubs/liqlatex) available under
the "Documents & Links" section. Make sure to draw your design for each
model on the "Model Sketch" form, too!

A7. Join the Brandeis Pluralism Alliance Steering Committee
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Brandeis Pluralism Alliance (BPA) invites applications for new
members to join the Pluralism Alliance Steering Committee, which is
responsible for advising all of the initiative’s activities. The
Steering Committee also selects grant recipients for projects
addressing issues of identity, pluralism and unity at Brandeis. Its
members serve as liaisons to grants recipients and organize Pluralism
Alliance meetings for representatives of student organizations (and
other faculty, staff and students) to share and discuss ongoing

A9. Halloween for the Hungry - SIGN UPS HAVE BEGUN!

Halloween's not just for kids. Help make a difference in the Waltham
community by trick-or-treating for canned goods and non-perishables!
Halloween for the Hungry is in its 22nd year at Brandeis, and you can
now register for the event taking place on Halloween (Saturday 10/31),
from 4pm-9pm. You can sign up for you and a group of your friends at
our table in Upper Usdan, M-F 11am-2pm.
***Prizes awarded for most cans collected, and best costume!***
All proceeds will be donated to the Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen. Contact

Come support the fight against cancer! Colleges Against Cancer will be
holding an EPIC coffeehouse in Ridgewood A Commons on Monday night!
Performance groups include Voices of Soul, TBA, Hooked on Tap, Slam
Poetry, and The Falling Elevators. There will be an assortment of
delicious cancer fighting foods available and some fun trivia. Bring
your friends and enjoy the evening while fighting cancer! Donations

B7. Secret Identities: The Asian American Superhero Anthology Work
------------------------------------------------------------------------
October 29, 2009 - 07:00PM The Lurias, Hassenfeld Conf. Ctr
The creators of "Secret Identities: The Asian American Superhero
Anthology" come to Brandeis to discuss the origins of their book - the
first-ever graphic novel to feature exclusively Asian American
superheroes! They'll also explore the backdrop of Asian American
media, show "Motion Comics" videos by managing editor Parry Shen (that
guy from "Better Luck Tomorrow"!) and collaborate with the audience to
create an original superhero on the spot, which will be rendered in
real time by art director Jerry Ma.
Everyone is welcome - whether you love comics, or superheroes, or a
more equalized representation of Asian Americans in the media.
Books (signed, if you ask!) will be available for purchase!
Dinner will also be served.
Sponsored by BAASA, the Intercultural Center, the Dean's Office, and
the American Studies department.
