A2. Student Events' Chocolate Cook-Off
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Grab some friends and sign up for the ultimate chocolate cook-off at
Student Events' chocolate festival during Fall Fest Weekend. Make your
favorite chocolate recipe and then be voted Brandeis' Best Chocolatier
with the prize of winning delicious desserts from Finale Desserterie &
Bakery in Boston.

A3. Brandeis Law Journal - positions open
------------------------------------------------------------------------
This semester the Brandeis University Law Journal Association is
publishing its very first issue. The Association is brand new, and
almost all leadership positions are open. Visit www.BrandeisJournal.com
for the application for those positions as well as for some basic
information about this student-run publication. (Applications are due
on Sept. 30th.)

A4. Junior Brandeis Achievers
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Junior Brandeis Achievers (JBA) is looking for volunteers! JBA is an
after school program that takes place every Wednesday from 3:00-4:30 at
the Stanley Elementary School (Grades K-5).  Volunteers plan
activites(with other volunteers) for a club of their choice.  This
semester we have the following clubs available: Singing Spectacular (a
musical), Needle Arts, Artistic Adventures , Build It, Kindergarten
Konnections, Wacky Science, Tall Tales (creative writing),Nonviolent
Communications, and Write Out Loud (public speaking). If you're

A5. STAR Peer Counseling
------------------------------------------------------------------------
STAR(Students Talking About Relationships) is a face-to-face
peer-counseling group on campus.  We are trained peer counselors to
talk about anything.  We are located in Shapiro Campus Center in room
324.  Our office hours this week will be Monday-Thursday 2-4 and 7-10. 
Our regular hours are Sunday-Thursday 2-4 and 7-10.  At STAR you can say
anything!

A6. Sillerman Prize - Innovations in Philanthropy - $5k Prize
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Come to the first of four workshops on Friday, September 25th, 2:30-4:00
PM in room 163 of the Heller School to learn how to form teams and be
part of this written plan competition.  Plans should be focused on the
most innovative and creative ways to advance philanthropy on college
campuses.  Teams must be comprised of at least two parts of the
Brandeis community: undergraduate, Graduate Schools (including Graduate
School of Arts and Sciences, The Heller School, The International
Business School and Rabb Graduate School of Continuing Studies) and
BOLLI and BNWC.  The three remaining workshops are on Oct. 1st, Oct.
13th and Oct. 22nd.  Visit: sillermancenter.brandeis.edu   for times

The European Cultural Studies, Fine Arts, and Comparative Literature
UDRs invite you to join us on a trip to MassMOCA, a contemporary art
museum in western MA. We're carpooling out there (it's about 2.5 hours

A8. Brandeis on NBC!

Tova Ferstenberg, a sophomore currently attending Brandeis University,
is going to be featured on the NBC hit game show, Deal or No Deal,
September 22-24. She will be attending their college themed episode and
will be clad in Brandeis attire. The air date of this episode is TBA.

The Business Club is having 'Application Orientation' for students
interested in any type of internship or job over the summer. It will
introduce the what the job market is like now, what experiences would
be beneficial, and simple tips for writing a resume. As well as answer
questions from students. Hiatt's own Joe Dupont will be speaking.

Social Justice at Brandeis is More Than Words !

How can YOU help? Are your shelves cluttered with last semester’s
textbooks? Or your favorite reads from summer break?
Bring your books to SCC from 12-2:30 (during the Community Service
Fair) to drop them off!

Join the Brandeis community as we support a local non-profit on Moody
Street called More Than Words. It is a bookstore, café and a
transformational vehicle for youth ages 16-21 who are in foster care,
court-involved, homeless or dropped out of school. More Than Words
empowers youth to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a
business. Youth gain real-world job training, education and life
support, and the true sense that they are part of a community.

you can volunteer or intern with these organizations. If you are
curious to learn more about the dynamics and services that are

in Boston this event is perfect for you.
