contact admitted students from the class of 2013.

We are looking for students who are both passionate about Brandeis and
are knowledgeable and involved in the Brandeis community. Students who
volunteer will be matched with admitted students with similar academic,
geographic and/or extracurricular interests and will be asked to either
e-mail or call the admitted students.

The Task Force hopes this initiative will translate into a larger
Student Ambassador Program that will get Brandeis students more
involved in admissions work.

If you are interested in contacting admitted students and becoming
involved in the Brandeis Ambassador Program please fill out this 2
minute questionnaire about yourself:

http://my.brandeis.edu/survsimp/one?survey_id=4449

B2. Spread the Word to End the Word Campaign 2009!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 31, 2009 - 11:00AM

Sponsored by DFA, Spread the Word to End the Word is a National
Awareness Day to raise the consciousness of society about the
dehumanizing and hurtful effects of the word “retard(ed)” and encourage
people to pledge to stop using the R-word. The effort is spearheaded by
college students and led by young people and Special Olympics athletes
across the country. Respectful and inclusive language is essential to
the movement for the dignity and humanity of people with intellectual
disabilities. However, much of society does not recognize the hurtful,
dehumanizing and exclusive effects of the word “retard(ed).”

It is time to address the minority slur “retard” and raise the
consciousness of society to its hurtful effects!

Stop by the R-Word Campaign table in Usdan on Tuesday, March 31st to
pledge your support to end the use of the "R-Word," and watch for
campaign volunteers on the Rabb steps throughout the day!
