Library and Technology Services has given our research guides a whole
new 2.0 look and greatly expanded the content! Our guides are now
tabbed for easy reference and many contain images, tag clouds, RSS
feeds, embedded videos, and more.
Browse the new guides or search them by subject or staff at:

We’d like you to collaborate with us by sending comments, rating
information resources, suggesting new links – also chat with our
research librarians or leave them a message and enjoy their pictures.

A2. Library Open 24/7 During Finals!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
24/7 access to the Main Library facility will begin Sunday, December 7
and will run until Thursday, December 18. A Brandeis ID card will be
required for entrance to the library between the hours of Midnight and
8:00am. While service desks will close at Midnight, library users will
have access to computers, printers, copiers, scanners, and plenty of
comfortable spots for group and individual study.
As always, please be sure to dispose of trash properly during the 24/7
period. Your help in maintaining the condition of the library is
greatly appreciated!

needs? The Office of the Dean of Arts and Sciences would like your
help in assessing the Undergraduate Departmental Representatives (UDR)
program. Please visit

A6. Energy Challenge: Do It in the Dark 2008 Results

Thanks to the many students who worked hard to reduce their energy use
during Do It in the Dark 2008. Thanks also go to S.E.A. and Eco-Reps
for reaching out to students.
Congrats to North Quad, Reinfield, Gordon, Rosenthal, The Village, Ziv
130, and Charles River Apartments: 178 E-1, 178 E-10, 110 G-2, 110 F-2,
164 D-8, and 150 E-4 for winning your respective challenges. Look out
for information from your Eco-Rep about your prize/party coming up
soon!

B3. Philosophical Love

December 10, 2008 - 07:30PM Carl J. Shapiro Theater
“Philosophical Love” is a dance piece that examines and discusses the
issues the gay community faces in China, but also stands as a
mouthpiece for any disenfranchised group unable to live in an open,
free, and accepting environment. It follows the story of two male
lovers and the obstacles they face trying to be together. The piece
will exhibit both Modern Chinese and Modern Western songs danced to
Hip-Hop, Modern, Ballroom, West African and Chinese dance. A discussion
will take place led by the creator of the piece, Justin Becker. He will
talk about his experiences in China and will open the forum as
talk-back.

December 5, 2008 - 08:00PM Spingold Theater Center
Performed by the Jose Mateo Ballet Theater of Boston
Generations have enjoyed this charming holiday adventure that follows a
little girl's journey through a fantasy world of princes, toy soldiers,
and an army of mice. Featuring some of Tchaikovsky's most beloved
music, including "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" and "Waltz of the
Snowflakes." Performed by one of Greater Boston's finest professional
dance companies. Brandeis Tickets: $15-$50. Brandeis students receive
$5 off the $35 and $29 price tickets with ID.
