Hello, budding playwrights!
Brandeis Ensemble Theatre (BET) is now accepting submissions for our
annual one-act festival, Quickies! Quickies will be held on Sunday,
December 7, 2008.
One-acts should be 5 - 12 pages long, running approximately 10 - 15
minutes in length. The deadline to submit a one-act is November 14,

B5. Vote in Waltham this Election Day!

November 4, 2008 - 10:00AM Banks Elementary School
To help those registered at Brandeis to vote in person, the Union is now
partnering with Brandeis Public Safety to provide Branvan shuttles to
the Waltham polling station on Tuesday, November 4. This shuttle will
leave from Shapiro Campus Center (look for the balloons!) and go to the
Banks elementary school at 10am, noon, 2pm, and 4pm.

David Newman
Ben Gurion University, Israel
“Thirty Years of the Settlement Movement:Gush Emunim”
David Newman is professor of political geography in the Department of
Politics and Government at Ben Gurion University in Israel. He edits
the international journal Geopolitics, and has published widely on
territorial dimensions of the Israel-Palestine conflict.. Since the
late 1980s, Newman has been involved in peace related activities and in
a variety of Track II discussions and negotiations. For more

B20. Darfur Stoves BBQ

STAND will be hosting a BBQ on the Great Lawn this Sunday, Nov 2 from
1-3PM. All proceeds will go to Darfur Stoves, an organization that puts
energy-efficient stoves in refugee camps so that women don't have to
leave the camps to gather firewood, making them vulnerable to rape.
There will be kosher, non-kosher, and vegetarian options available. $5
suggested donation and make sure to bring your parents! Questions?

Are you interested in being in Adagio's biggest concert of the year?!
Come to dancer placements and show us what you're interested in! This
is open to dancers of all levels and every dancer who comes to the
placements will be in AT LEAST one dance! Whether you have been
dancing for years or you've never even considered dancing ... this is
the opportunity for you!
Come to the main courts in Gosman this Sunday from 4-7 and learn some
dance choreography!
Please note that being in the Spring Show will require weekly
rehearsals (at least one hour a week).
