Do You Have Talent?
Interested in creating more awareness for your club? Does your club do
performances or skits? If you answered yes, then AHORA! is looking for
you!! Next month, we will be hosting the largest event in our Hispanic
Heritage Month celebration, The Main Event, and we are looking for
great performers to take part. If you or your club want to get involved
in dances or skits for our Main Event, email meres@brandeis.edu to get
more information.

A2. The Justice is hiring
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Justice is looking to hire a distributor. The distributor works
about 3 hours a week, on Tuesday afternoons, delivering the newspapers
to various on-campus buildings as well as a few places on Moody St. in
Waltham. The distributor makes $10 per hour, and must have a car. We
will give you a parking pass that allows you to park nearly everywhere
on campus on Tuesdays and Wednesdays if you agree to do the job. Call

A3. Apply to be Clerk of the Union Judiciary!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Clerk of the UJ is responsible for much of the administrative work
for the court, especially once a case is submitted. It's a great way to
get involved in Student Union and see how everything works. This year we
are only accepting applications from those with sophomore status or
above.
If you wish to apply, send an email to uj@lists.brandeis.edu with the
following information: name, class year, major, why you are interested
in being the UJ Clerk, and any qualifications or relevant experience
you have.

September 16, 2008 - 06:00PM ICC Swig Lounge- East Quad
Come see "Latina Confessions" A film dealing with the questions:
What does it mean to be a Latina in the U.S. today? How does the
“Madonna/Whore Complex” impact Latina sexuality? When two competing
cultures engage in a tug of war, which side wins? In frank and
confessional monologues, Latinas defy stereotypes as they share
intimate secrets about family, culture and sex.
Following the film, there will be a brief discussion led by the
producer of the film Tio Louie. Snacks will be served!!

Come join B.A.D.A.S.S. for our third public debate ever! We will debate
on whether or not we should drill in America to deal with rising oil
prices. B.A.D.A.S.S. members will give brief speeches and then invite
you to argue in favor or against this resolution.
If you have ever been to one of our public debates before, know that
this one will be best one so far! SO TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW ABOUT IT!

B13. Lose the Shoes to Kick AIDS in Africa
------------------------------------------------------------------------
September 27, 2008 - 04:00PM Chapels Field
Brandeis University will hold a "Lose the Shoes" 3v3 barefoot soccer
tournament. All of the proceeds will directly benefit Grassroot
Soccer's HIV/AIDS prevention program in Africa
(www.grassrootsoccer.org). Join us for food, soccer, and tons of
prizes from Puma and Hummel! The registration fee is $10 per person
and teams can consist of up to 5 players. The first 20 team captains
to register will receive a free t-shirt! Sign up at tables in Usdan or
email losetheshoes@brandeis.edu.
Since 2007, over 50 "Lose the Shoes" tournaments nationwide have
collectively raised $100,000 to support Grassroot Soccer. Brandeis
University held one of the first tournaments in January of 2007 and has
since made it a much anticipated yearly event. Even if you don't play
soccer, you can still get involved by volunteering or buying raffle
tickets to win t-shirts, balls, and a surprise gift package from Puma.
