donations from World AIDS Week events benefit Kenyan AIDS Orphans.

5-9PM in the Shapiro Atrium
Join the Student Global AIDS Campaign for an exhibition of the AIDS
Memorial Quilt at Brandeis University. Founded in 1987, The AIDS
Memorial Quilt is a poignant memorial, a powerful tool for use in
preventing new HIV infections, and the largest ongoing community arts
project in the world. Each "block" (or section) of The AIDS Memorial
Quilt measures approximately twelve feet square, and a typical block
consists of eight individual three foot by six foot panels sewn
together. Virtually every one of the more than 40,000 colorful panels
that make up the Quilt memorializes the life of a person lost to AIDS.

A3. The Love of the Nightingale
------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Wednesday-Friday Nov. 28-30th*
8PM in Spingold at the Laurie Theater!

The rich retelling of the Philomele story. This play passionately
demonstrates the violence that stems from enforced silence: the dumb
Philomele kills her rapist's son in an awful act of violence. The core
of the story concerns Tereus, King of Thrace, who marries Procne,
daughter of the King of Athens. Procne pines in her Thracian exile and
sends for her beloved sister, Philomele. Her husband Tereus is to
escort the sister to Thrace, but enroute he rapes her, and when she
threatens to talk, he cuts out her tongue. It's a powerful theatre told
with devastating vitality.
