A5. Communiversity!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey all!!

I am pleased to announce that Communiversity ’09-’10 is almost here!!!
Communiveristy is a series of non-credit mini courses taught by
undergraduate students and professors on the subjects of their choice.
These courses are on topics as diverse as chocolate making, American
Sign Language and knitting. Communiveristy was popular at Brandeis in
the ‘70s and ‘80s and was revived in the Spring of 2005. We’re hoping
to makes this year the biggest and best.

If you have a teachable talent or hobby you would like to share
please apply to teach a Communiversity course. Communiveristy is a
unique opportunity to get involved in the Brandeis community. No
teaching experience is required and you design the lesson plans and
schedule. The courses will be taught in the first few weeks of the
Spring semester and classes are expected to meet once or twice each
week.

Even if you don’t want to teach a course, look out for e-mails
detailing the courses which will be taught next semester.

To submit a proposal please fill out the form here:

by November 30th.

Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions,

along with fundraising stations and live dance performance. Rupert
Isaacson, author of best-seller The Horse Boy, visits to screen its
accompanying documentary film. The moving HBO documentary Autism: The

issues concerning autism. There is a luncheon for anyone to discuss

November 3, 2009 - 07:30PM International Lounge, Usdan

In "A Terrible Splendor" Brandeis alumn Marshall Jon Fisher '85 tells
the story of German tennis star Gottfried von Cramm, whose David Cup
Final
against Don Budge, at Wimbledon in 1937, is widely regarded as the

In his book Marshall describes how the excitement built up over the

their coaches.

Come hear a fascinating story about tennis, anti-Semitism, and
homophobia in the midst of the build-up towards WWII.
